Tracking Button / Tracking Hub

In this article, you will find more information about our Tracking Button and Tracking Hub. Location tracking is a central feature of your Anio, and the Tracking Hub is the key control element for adapting location tracking to your usage. We have tried to make location tracking as simple and intuitive as possible so that you as a user can access the desired functions directly.

 

First of all: As soon as you open the app, the watch attempts to determine its location directly in the background. This can take up to 60 seconds. 

 

When you tap the Tracking Button , the Tracking Hub opens. Here, you have the following options:

  • Track watch once: The watch immediately attempts to determine its location and displays the location within 60 seconds.

  • Explorer Mode: Your watch automatically determines its location every 5 minutes for 60 minutes.

  • School way times: Here, you can jump directly to the school way times and manage them.

How to open your watch's Tracking Hub

Track watch once

If you want to determine the watch's location once, tap “Start”. Your Anio will immediately attempt to determine its location. If location tracking is possible, it can take up to 60 seconds for the current position to be displayed. 

The requirements for successful location tracking are:

  • a permanent internet connection
  • GPS connection¹ or 3 different Wi-Fi networks² in the surrounding area

If immediate location tracking is not possible, this is because one of the two requirements has not been met. While location tracking is in progress, the Tracking Button and the Tracking Hub are displayed as follows (the text shown may vary slightly depending on the product used):

   

  • ¹GPS connection: To get an accurate GPS position, the watch must be outdoors. 

  • ²Wi-Fi networks: Please note that Wi-Fi networks from devices such as printers or speakers cannot be used for location tracking.

As soon as the watch has been tracked successfully, a banner displaying "Position updated" appears:

Explorer Mode

Tapping "Start" in the Tracking Hub starts the Explorer Mode. It remains active for 60 minutes, and the watch's location is determined every 5 minutes.

In addition, the appearance of the status tile, Tracking Button and Tracking Hub changes as follows when Explorer Mode is active:

If you want to end Explorer Mode early, tap "Stop and save battery" in the Tracking Hub.

School way times

If you tap "Manage" in the Tracking Hub, you will reach the settings for "Locating & School way times". There, you can completely deactivate location tracking and set up school way times as needed. You can find brief instructions for setting up school way times here.
