This section helps you quickly identify and resolve common issues with the SOS emergency call.
Basic Knowledge About the SOS Emergency Call
Up to three SOS phone numbers can be saved.
The SOS call is triggered by pressing the SOS button for longer than 3 seconds and then confirming it.
The watch calls the stored numbers one after another.
If a number is unreachable, the next number is called.
Voicemail or automated messages end the SOS process – no further calls are made.
All app users connected to the watch receive a push notification when an SOS is triggered.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Please check the following prerequisites:
-
Mobile network reception
Is the watch online? (LTE / mobile network) -
Were the SOS numbers saved correctly?
- Were the numbers saved in international format? The phone number must start with the +country code and then be completed with the phone number without the 0 of the area code (e.g., +44123456789).
-

After saving, please wait at least 2 minutes before testing the SOS function again. -
Was the SOS call triggered correctly?
- Was the button pressed for longer than 3 seconds?
- Was the SOS call actively confirmed?
No. The watch calls the numbers in sequence:
- First number
- Second number (if the first number is unreachable)
- Third number (if the second number is also unreachable)
⚠️ As soon as a person answers or a voicemail is reached, the SOS process ends.
- Anio 6: No emergency call is triggered if no number is saved.
- Anio 5 (and Anio 6 older firmware): If no numbers are stored, the emergency number 112 is called.
Recommendation: Always save at least one private SOS number.
Location During SOS – Important Differences
Anio 5
When the SOS button is pressed, a GPS SMS is additionally sent to the stored emergency contacts.
The SMS contains the last determined GPS position of the watch.
This position can be less accurate or older than the app position.
Anio 6
No more GPS SMS: Location is only displayed in the Anio app.
Why the app position is often more accurate:
The watch only knows its GPS position. However, the app also uses Wi-Fi location. This makes the app position often more current and precise.
Recommendation: In an emergency, always check the app first.
Push Notification for SOS
For Anio 5 and Anio 6, a push notification is sent to all app users connected to the watch when an SOS call is made.
-
Requirement:
Push notifications enabled in the app
Watch is online
Important: Also make sure that the toggle for SOS push notification is enabled (set to green) in the app. You can find it in the basic settings of the watch under the SOS tab.
