Each school can allow, restrict, or even completely prohibit the use of smartwatches in its school regulations.
We, the founders of Anio, are parents of school-aged children ourselves and have spouses and friends who work as teachers in schools. This allows us to understand very well both the parental need for a communication device and the concerns of teachers regarding modern communication devices used by students. It is especially difficult for schools to distinguish between a reputable product and an unreliable product (e.g., with camera and monitoring functions). Our goal is to postpone the first smartphone for children as far into the future as possible, while at the same time enabling families not to have to do without a family communication device.
We have done everything to perfectly tailor our Anio 5 and Anio 6 kids' smartwatches for school use.
With the help of school quiet times, the Anio 5 and Anio 6 are just normal watches at school:
- The watch display is locked
- Only the time is shown
- All messages/calls are muted
- Only the SOS button remains active for any emergency
The Anio 5 and Anio 6 definitely do not have these functions:
- Camera
- Monitoring function
- Listening function
- Automatic call answering
- Sending and receiving regular SMS
- Accessing websites
- Installation of other apps
- Games, calculator
